As part of the ongoing transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park the new Cars: Road Trip attraction will welcome guests for the first time on June 17.

Transported into a Cars-themed version of a Road Trip on Route 66, guests will discover 'natural wonders' like The World's Largest Lugnut and the Cars-tastrophe Canyon.

During the new attraction, guests will encounter popular characters such as Lightning McQueen and Mater.

Cars: Road Trip in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris replaces the former Studio Tram Tour attraction.

Studio Tram Tour: Behind the Magic opened with the rest of the park in 2002 and closed 2020. Guests entered the attraction via Hollywood Boulevard under a false facade of the Hollywood sign. The 'tram ride' type attraction featured highlights such as the Catastrophe Canyon scene and a look into the set of London in ruins from the film Reign of Fire.

Imagineers wanted to create a studio tour at Walt Disney Studios Park, similar to the former Studio Backlot Tour in Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida, where the tour was once the park's signature attraction.

As part of the park's major expansion, much of the Studio Tram Tour has been removed to make room for new themed lands based on Marvel, Star Wars and Frozen, but Catastrophe Canyon has been retained and incorporated into the new Cars-based attraction.

Cars: Road Trip in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris opens on June 17, 2021.
