Gröna Lund in Sweden is planning a major expansion of the theme park in 2024.

The project, if approved, would involve transforming the car park into a new area of the park with rides and attractions, shops and restaurants, games and green spaces.

One of the highlights could be a new roller coaster with a maximum height of 45m (148ft).

In addition to the new theme park area, the project would also include a new public promenade above the water and a new bridge connecting the expansion with the rest of Gröna Lund.

On April 20, 2020, a majority in the City Council of the City of Stockholm voted yes to the detailed plan. It was appealed to the Land and Environment Court, which annulled the detailed plan, so Gröna Lund is now appealing that ruling to a higher body, the Supreme Land and Environmental Court.
