On Friday April 26, 2024 we were invited to attend the press event and unveiling of Sweet Valley, a brand new themed area at Energylandia dedicated to the sweetest of treats!

Sweet Valley boasts two new roller coasters, Choco Chip Creek and Honey Harbour, and eight other rides and attractions all tailored to younger guests.

The new 4-hectare land also has no fewer than 10 food and beverage stands selling a variety of different sweet treats, plus a gift shop.

Having spent the morning within the park, exploring and enjoying some of our favourite attractions, we headed to one of the two entrances to Sweet Valley

At 2pm, with a small crowd forming, we entered the front of the land, being greeted by a number of the park’s entertainers dressed in a whole manner of carnival themed costumes. As we took our place around a small stage, we were provided with an exclusive Sweet Valley goodie bag as well as a deliciously sweet drink to really help get us in the mood for what was to come.

Soon after, and with the music volume increasing, we were treated to a welcome show which included a number of different dance routines, acrobatics and juggling. With their opening performance now in full swing, we were greeted by a ringmaster who went on to welcome everyone to the event and introduced the special guests who would be officially opening the new land.

Following various speeches from the special guests and a blessing from a priest, Sweet Valley at Energylandia was officially open for us to explore - and what better way to start than heading straight for a colourful cupcake stand!

As we walked around the streets of Sweet Valley, we were really taken aback by how incredibly sweet everything looked. The buildings are very bright and vibrant, with attractive planting throughout the area and plenty of seating located for guests to enjoy their sweet treats. We opted for a Chocolate Oreo Milkshake from Sweet Shake followed by Nutella Waffle from Wacky Waffles

Feeling suitably refreshed, it was time to take on our first attraction in the new area, Choco Chip Creek. This large Vekoma mine train coaster starts with guests entering the well-themed caves that house much of the queue line. On your journey, guests enter one of two elevators which take you down deeper into the 'cookie mine', however, all is not as it seems as your lift jams en route. A series of alarms, shudders and rocking from side to side takes place before the elevator frees itself and continues down to the deepest part of mine. This effect is achieved through sound and lighting which compliment a series of screens that can be seen through the lift windows and it has been done really well.

After passing through the locker area we entered the ride station and boarded before experiencing our first ride. A very nice effect that takes place as the train leaves the station is a blast of the whistle and a plume of smoke which bellows from the locomotive's funnel.

Choco Chip Creek is a thrilling family roller coaster that includes three lift hills across its massive 3,937 feet of twisted track. The ride traverses through a number of ‘cookie mountains’ along its journey, including one which is a waterfall feature, with the train passing between the two falls. A little disappointingly, the theming for the attraction isn’t actually finished, with the main element still simply a steel structure and a number of other empty concrete bases where it's clear more of the 'cookie rock' will be placed at a later date.

For the ride itself, we found it a real joy and packed with some really surprisingly forceful moments throughout the layout, which will only be further enhanced once the theming has been completed. Pleasingly, the design of a number of drops also means that the overall experience is fairly consistent regardless to your position on the train, which certainly cannot be said for all roller coasters of this type. Choco Chip Creek is a great addition for Energylandia and compliments its already packed roller coaster line-up.

Next up for us, Honey Harbour, another Vekoma mine train style roller coaster located at the opposite end of Sweet Valley. Unlike its bigger brother, Honey Harbour is aimed at younger guests, with a height limit of only 100cm when accompanied by a guardian, however we were really impressed with its compact layout which features a number of exciting elements. A bonus of two laps of the shorter circuit, is guaranteed to keep guests entertained.

The other attractions within Sweet Valley are:

  • Twis’Tea - this Tea Cup ride from Zamperla is a focal point in the new land.
  • Bumble Boats - a Kiddie Flume from Zamperla with a little splash.
  • Candy Critters - an interactive carousel from Gosetto.
  • Mini Track’ Tour Ride - travel through a lollipop farm on this tractor ride from Zamperla.
  • Crazy Barn - spin, dip and twist on this Barnyard ride from Zamperla.
  • Candy Carousel - a classic Vienna Carousel from SBF.
  • Bon Bon Balloon - a colourful Samba Balloon from Zamperla.
  • Toffee Theatre - offering multiple shows every day.

We found each of these attractions to be attractively presented, which supported the overall look and feel of the area as a whole.

A stop at Snow Flake Peak for a wonderful ice cream was next for us, before continuing to explore the area and visiting the Choco Chip Chocolate Store - which is as much of a mouthful as all the sweet treats that we had been enjoying! No themed area is complete without a wide range of merchandise and Sweet Valley certainly doesn’t disappoint, with plenty of specific branded products available to purchase in the area's main store.

And with that, our time within Sweet Valley came to an end and the gates opened for the official soft opening which had been scheduled to take place after the press event.

Overall, Sweet Valley is a bright, vibrant and attractive new area that's a perfect fit for Energylandia. The area provides their younger guests the same quality of experience that we have come to expect from the park with their most recent additions, Smoczy Gród and Aqualantis, which we are sure will only continue to improve with further enhancements.

With our remaining time in the park we were able to experience all our favourite rides, including Zadra, Hyperion, Abyssus, Speed and Formula, as well as a number of the other attractions that Energylandia has to offer.

The park as a whole was completely spotless and it's clear that a great deal of effort has been put in to it during the closed season to ensure that Energylandia thrills and entertains its guests throughout the 2024 season.

Sweet Valley at Energylandia is now officially open to all guests!

Western Camp Resort

After our action packed day at the park we were whisked back to the nearby Western Camp Resort by an exclusive road train that operates between the park and resort every 30 minutes during opening hours.

The resort itself is Wild West themed, with guests able to choose from a host of different accommodation options, including Sheriff's Cabins, Tepees, Wagons and new for 2024, House Boats!

We were fortunate enough to be staying in a Sheriff's Cabin which comfortably sleeps a family of four. The cabins have been completed to an incredibly high standard and we loved all the little details around our room.

Much like the park, the entire resort was spotless and has been presented beautifully. On our return there were a number of guests taking part in activities so it was clear that there is plenty for families to do during their stay.

Breakfast was served in the on-site restaurant the following morning, which included a great selection of both hot and cold options sure to set anyone up for a long day of exploring the park!

Energylandia is located near the town of Zator, less than half an hour drive from Kraków. The theme park opened in 2014 and already includes more than 100 rides and attractions.
