After more than five decades as Holiday Park, the beloved German theme park has officially turned the page and reopened its gates as Plopsaland Deutschland.

Backed by the creative might of Studio 100 and the Plopsa Group, the transformation was celebrated in spectacular fashion with a full day of live entertainment, family fun, and the unveiling of brand-new themed attractions.

We were invited to attend the Grand Opening event on June 28, 2025, to be part of this milestone in the history of the park, and to experience the new attractions and entertainment.

✨ A Festive Start

The grand opening kicked off at 9:30 AM with the official ceremony at the entrance, featuring mascots and characters from the Plopsa universe. Guests were welcomed with a complimentary Robby Bubble welcome drink, setting a cheerful tone for what was to come.

Following speeches by Carl Lenaerts (CEO of the Plopsa Group) and Bernd Beitz (Director for Germany) the new Plopsa song made its debut, followed by a countdown with daytime fireworks to declare the park officially open.

🎢 New Attractions Make Their Debut

Plopsaland Deutschland wasted no time showcasing its newest additions:

• Blinky Bill's Greenville Town: Opened officially at 11:30, this new themed zone brings the adventurous Australian koala to life with three rides tailored for young explorers. With charming theming and vibrant storytelling, this area promises to be a hit with families.

• The Smurfs' Adventure: This highly anticipated new indoor attraction premiered at 13:15 and instantly became a crowd favourite. Guests joined the iconic blue characters on a magical ride through whimsical scenery, complete with glowing mushrooms and lush forests.

🎤 Shows, Dance, and Parade Magic

The entertainment didn’t stop with the rides:

• The Magical Key to Plopsaland show enchanted audiences at 10:20 with the story of unlocking the magic of Plopsaland.

• The Plopsa Dance with Markus Becker at 13:00 turned the Fountain Plaza into a dance party.

• The Smurfs' Show was introduced at 14:00 in the Plopsa Indoor Theater.

• At 16:00, the all-new Plopsa Festival Parade brought characters like Maya the Bee, Vic the Viking and Heidi together in a colourful, musical procession through the park.

• The all-new Plopsaland Shop, which officially opened at 17:30, offers exclusive merchandise from Studio 100 characters—perfect for taking a bit of the magic home.

🌌 Evening Spectacle

As the sun set, the party ramped up:

• A fiery spectacle lit up Greenville Town at 19:00 and 20:30.

• Glockenbach, the German music act, headlined a high-energy performance from 21:15 to 22:45.

• The day concluded with a spectacular fireworks display above the Fountain Plaza—an emotional and thrilling finale to a historic day!
