In 2021, LEGO Movie World will open at LEGOLAND Billund with three brand new rides and a playground.
The 5,000 m2 extension will be the park's biggest investment to date, and it will include Scandinavia's first Flying Theatre attraction.
LEGO Movie World is inspired by the characters and themes of the global hit films The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.
THE LEGO MOVIE World was due to open at LEGOLAND Billund in March 2020, but has now been postponed until 2021 due to delays caused by coronavirus disruption.
As we previously reported, the park will re-open for the 2020 season on June 8.
In a statement, the park confirmed:
The opening of The LEGO MOVIE World is postponed to 2021, as our foreign suppliers have not had the opportunity to complete the rides. We do not know when it will be possible for them to travel to Denmark, and with the work that remains and the subsequent security approvals and the training required, it is not realistic that we can open the area this year at the same time, that we have all the new security measures that we are going to introduce and adapt on an ongoing basis.
We know that you were delighted as much as we are, and we deeply regret that you have to wait a little longer for our big news. We promise that it's all done by 2021, and we also promise it's definitely worth the wait.
