The world's first 'Roller Ball' coaster from Ride Engineers Switzerland will open at Germany's Schwaben Park in 2018.

Wilde Hilde is being described by the park as a "totally crazy chicken coop" and will be unique in the world.

The new ride is very much aimed at families so will fit in perfectly and due to its modest footprint can be easily added.

Take a look at this visualisation:

The gondolas are attached to the side of the track and reach a height of over 20 meters, then at the top they begin to travel freely down a zigzag course with free fall elements and changes in direction causing the gondolas to swing.

The ride is quite similar to Intamin's ZacSpin and S&S Worldwide's Free Spin roller coasters, but instead of offering multiple inversions aimed at thrill seekers, this new concept features gentle rocking so is suitable for families.
