In mid-2023, Toverland will open no fewer than four new attractions in the theme area Avalon, where guests imagine themselves in the mythical world of wizard Merlin.

An investment of €10 million will be made in the expansion, which aims to increase the range of attractions for a wider audience and encourage guests to spend more time in the park.

In 2018, the Avalon themed area opened with the spectacular wing coaster Fēnix, the boat ride Merlin's Quest and the restaurant The Flaming Feather.

Jean Gelissen, General Manager of Toverland:

“We are very proud of everything that is going to happen in Avalon. Our confidence in the power of the world of Merlin means that we are happy to bring an even wider target group into contact with it. With our knowledge, expertise, experience and stubbornness, we know how to shape this theme in such a way that is unique and fits our identity.”

In addition to the opening of the new attractions, there is still more to be done in Avalon. The area will be further enhanced with a water playground and a toddler's playground, right next to the terrace of The Flaming Feather.

Pixarus

The first attraction is Pixarus. In this 'Flight School of Magic', Merlin's students receive flying lessons. Guests can decide for themselves what their flight will feel like by controlling their own seat and how often they turn over. Pixarus has a unique element, because this attraction is placed in the angled bend (the so-called 'helix') of roller coaster Fēnix. As a result, both attractions will fly right past each other.

Dragonwatch

For guests that find Pixarus a little too thrilling and prefer to take to the air side by side, they can go on the family-friendly Dragonwatch drop tower. This is the ideal place to spot the dragons of Avalon from a height of 17 metres and enjoy the view over the theme park.

Garden Tour

Safe on the ground, the youngest guests are invited by Merlin to take a look at his magical herb garden. In this Garden Tour of over 130 metres through special flora and fauna, guests meet the magical creatures of Avalon. Children can experience this surprising tour both independently and with their parents.

Jumping Juna

At the foot of Dragonwatch, children can take a seat in the Jumping Juna carousel. Here, the playful unicorn Juna and the mischievous dragon Sparky organise a costume party. These two new characters will appear in Toverland for the first time from 2023.
