Europe's second tallest and fastest roller coaster will open at Energylandia in Poland this year. The new ride will be 252.6ft tall, reach a top speed of over 140km/h and be called Hyperion.

Energylandia is located near the town of Zator, less than a half an hour drive from Kraków.

The theme park opened as recently as 2014 and already includes 70 rides and attractions over 26 hectares. Current highlights include the launched coaster Formula and inverted coaster Mayan.

Hyperion will begin with a 265.8ft drop at 85° into a tunnel, launch into an ejector airtime hill and complete a twist and dive manoeuvre. It will then enter a high speed over-banked hill, go over a speed bump and onto a floater airtime hill then into a panoramic wave turn.

Next, the ride will go over another speed bump and into a stengel dive, an over-banked turn, two double s-curves, an s-hump with airtime, an ejector airtime hill with a water splash and finally jump into the brakes.

The tallest and fastest roller coaster in Europe is currently Red Force in Ferrari Land at PortAventura, which has a top speed of 180km/h and is 367.3ft tall.

Hyperion has been manufactured by Intamin and is set to open at Energylandia in 2018.
