Fraispertuis-City, the popular family theme park located in the Vosges region of France, has officially opened its highly anticipated 2026 expansions just in time for its 60th anniversary.

Following nine months of construction and a record-breaking investment of over €7 million, a brand-new 1,400 square metre themed area opened to the public on 4 July 2026.

Founded in 1966 by the Fleurent family, Fraispertuis-City is the oldest French theme park still managed by its founding family.

This latest expansion adds to a lineup of nearly 40 rides and attractions, focusing on the theme of forest conservation and raising awareness about wildfires. The immersive new area pays tribute to wildland firefighting teams, specifically drawing inspiration from elite US Interagency Hotshot Crews. It also seamlessly incorporates the park's 2025 addition, Sawmill.

Fireline Redwood: A Family Boomerang Coaster

The centrepiece of the new area is Fireline Redwood, a unique Family Boomerang roller coaster manufactured by Vekoma. Built on the space previously occupied by a maintenance workshop and the Joly Jumper ride, this coaster features a custom layout designed specifically for the park.

Guests board a 20-seat train to experience a dynamic 208-metre track that alternates between subterranean trenches and elevated stretches. The ride experience includes:

  • A backward ascent up to a height of 22.5 metres.
  • A high-speed forward dash reaching up to 61 km/h.
  • A dramatic rush toward an impressive 24.5-metre-high spike embedded inside a fire-ravaged redwood tree, before reversing course back to the station.

The attraction is highly accessible, welcoming children from 95 cm tall when accompanied, and riders 1.20 m or taller on their own. It also includes an elevator at the exit and a specially designed car to assist guests with reduced mobility.

To complete the experience, the ride features custom-composed soundtracks by IMAscore, special effects, pyrotechnics, and extensive landscaping consisting of around 60 trees across 20 different species.

Les Ours Hauts: Family Drop Tower Thrills

Alongside the coaster, visitors can experience Les Ours Hauts (The High Bears), an 11-metre-tall family drop tower designed by German manufacturer Zierer.

The storyline invites brave volunteers to rescue two bear cubs stranded at the top of the tower after being frightened by forest fires. Also accessible to children from 95 cm tall, this attraction bridges the gap between the gentle thrills of Joly Jumper and the intense drop of the park's Cactus tower. In addition to its fun drop sequences, the ride offers passengers a panoramic 360-degree view of the entire new themed zone.

The project was brought to life by combining international ride manufacturers, Vekoma and Zierer, with an extensive lineup of local and specialized contractors, creating a highly detailed and educational new space for European theme park fans to explore this summer.
