Movie Park Germany has reached a landmark moment in its history, officially welcoming its 40-millionth guest since the park first opened its gates in 1996.
To celebrate the milestone, Germany's premier film and amusement destination in Bottrop-Kirchhellen rolled out the red carpet for an unsuspecting family and announced a major charitable contribution totalling €40,000.
A VIP Welcome For The Milestone Guests
The surprise unfolded as a family from Fahrdorf near Schleswig stepped into the park during a summer holiday trip. Christine, travelling with her husband Phillip and their two sons, Lennik and Bennet, was met with a festive reception right at the turnstiles, complete with park mascots S.A.M. and S.I.A., a Marilyn Monroe performer, and a shower of confetti.
As the official 40-millionth visitors, the family received a range of top-tier perks to elevate their day out. The package included a family lunch at Trattoria Hollywood, queue-jumping Speedy Passes, a VIP merchandise shopping spree at the Department Store, and Platinum Season Passes covering both the current 2026 season and the upcoming 2027 season. To cap off the prize, the family was also awarded a weekend stay with overnight accommodation at Tropical Islands Resort.
"You can't get any luckier than this!" said Christine following the surprise. "We're incredibly happy about this surprise."
Manuel Prossotowicz, Director of Marketing & Sales at Movie Park Germany, highlighted what the achievement means for the destination:
"For us, 40 million guests are far more than just a number; they represent 40 million personal experiences, memories, and the trust our visitors have placed in us over many years. This moment fills us with great pride and shows that our commitment to continually offering our guests new, cinematic experiences is appreciated. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who has been part of our story and has accompanied us on this journey."
Giving Back To Local Families And Causes
In addition to treating parkgoers inside the gates, Movie Park Germany is marking the occasion by supporting children and families across the region. The park is donating €40,000 to charitable initiatives through the Four Wings Foundation, established within parent group Parques Reunidos.
"We are donating a total of 40,000 euros to charitable projects to symbolically celebrate this day and make a statement as a family amusement park," explained Ann-Katrin Dölken, PR & Communications Leader and head of the Social Impact division at Movie Park.
The donation will be distributed across four key areas focusing on disadvantaged and ill children:
- €10,000 to SOS Children's Villages Essen
- €10,000 to PRO Kinderklinik e.V. at Marienhospital in Bottrop
- €10,000 to the Manuel Neuer Kids Foundation for its MANUS facilities in Gelsenkirchen and Bottrop
- €10,000 to the Four Wings Foundation to fund upcoming community partnerships and family-focused initiatives in the local region.
