2018 is shaping up to be a very exciting year at Gardaland with the opening of Peppa Pig Land. The new fully themed area will offer families the chance to visit Peppa’s house, meet with Peppa and George and enjoy three new fantastic rides: Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride, Grandpa Pig’s Train Ride and the Pirate Island Boat Ride.

Two colourful gates will lead families into Peppa Pig Land where they will be able to visit Peppa’s famous yellow house, climb aboard a pirate ship at the Pirate Island Boat Ride, go on an adventure with Grandpa Pig’s Train Ride or take a flight on the multi-coloured hot air balloons of Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride. This new area in Gardaland is inspired by the activities that Peppa and friends love to enjoy including playing games, dressing up, exploring the outdoor days and jumping in muddy puddles!

After a full year of groundwork in the theme park, work has now begun on the track for Valkyria and the first section is in place.

Meanwhile, work continues on the most complex part of the project, the tunnel at the bottom of the 50-metre dive. Valkyria – which will open at Liseberg in summer 2018, will be the largest and longest dive coaster in Europe.

Walibi Rhône-Alpes will open a new Festival City area in the theme park this year, featuring 3 new Zamperla attractions; a Vertical Swing, Samba Balloon and Rockin' Tug.

The new Festival City area is inspired by distant and exotic countries, with bright colours and lively music. The new Vertical Swing ride will be the first of its kind in a French theme park.

Efteling 2020

Efteling has had plans to expand for some time, and this extension is described in the draft zoning plan as 'World of the Efteling 2030'. This states, among other things, that Efteling will eventually expand with 8 hectares on the eastern side of the theme park.

This whole plan has to be established this summer, but the Efteling wants to accelerate one part of the plan. So that they can get started with the first part (about 3 hectares) of the new area and open a new attraction in 2020.

Toverland becomes an impressive one-and-a-half times bigger this year. On Saturday 7 July 2018 the park will open the new land of Avalon and a new entrance area called Port Laguna.

Magic is the central theme here: with a magic wand visitors will able to practice magic spells. Via Magia, the boulevard of Port Laguna, then leads the visitors to the other areas of the theme park.
