Walibi Rhône-Alpes has unveiled the final phase of its decade-long transformation. For the 2026 season, the French park is investing €4.5 million to complete its Exotic Island themed area by introducing a unique family ride, an adventure trail, and a sensory botanical maze.

Since 2016, the park has undergone a massive €50 million overhaul, moving away from its traditional design toward three complete immersive areas: Explorer Adventure, Festival City, and Exotic Island. The 2026 expansion serves as the crowning achievement of this master plan.

A European First: RépaR’ Ta Kar

The headline addition for 2026 is RépaR’ Ta Kar, a family attraction described as the first of its kind in Europe. Manufactured by the Italian specialists Zamperla, the ride is a Go Go Bounce model.

The attraction will be themed around a 4x4 garage, providing a narrative link between the high-speed Mahuka launch coaster and the park's Tiki Village. Riders board off-road vehicles that bounce, rotate, and spin in a chaotic mechanical frenzy.

For the Fans: Walibi has tucked several 'Easter eggs' into the queue line for long-time visitors. The soundtrack features the park's iconic 1990s "Walibibibi" jingle, while the decor includes vintage postcards and the classic 90s logo, celebrating the park’s heritage as it moves into a new era.

Immersive Exploration for All Ages

In addition to the new ride, two new walkthrough experiences will open to enhance the Exotic Island atmosphere:

  • L’Expédition Perdue (The Lost Expedition): A multi-level adventure trail featuring suspended bridges, slides and climbing challenges. Designed by Kinderland, the course will be inclusive in design, allowing park guests with reduced mobility to explore alongside their families.
  • Le Passage Oublié (The Forgotten Passage): A lush, sensory planted maze. More than a simple walk, this area includes underground tunnels and tactile discovery points designed as a "breathing space" between the park's higher-intensity attractions.

Practical Information for Visitors

Walibi Rhône-Alpes officially opens its gates for the 2026 season on April 4, though the three new Exotic Island experiences are scheduled for a grand opening in May 2026.
