Parc Astérix has revealed details of the new and improved roller coasters coming to the French theme park in 2022 and 2023.

The iconic Tonnerre de Zeus wooden roller coaster will be renovated and enhanced to become Tonnerre 2 Zeus in 2022.

In 2023, the theme park will debut a new themed area including Toutatis, the fastest roller coaster in France.

Efteling – the fairytale theme park in the south of Holland – will retheme an area including two attractions this autumn, the first phase of a development plan for Reizenrijk (the Travel Realm).

With an investment of €2.8 million, the two attractions Adventure Maze and Monsieur Cannibale will be adapted to become Archipel and Sirocco.

Both rides will be themed to Sindbad the Sailor, originating from the Tales of the Thousand and One Nights.

Fårup Sommerland has announced that it will open Denmark’s largest and fastest roller coaster in 2022.

Fønix (Phoenix) will be 40 m tall, reach speeds of up to 95 km/h, feature the world’s first 'stall loop' element, and have more airtime than any other ride in Scandinavia.

An investment of almost DKK 100 million (€13 million) is being made in the attraction, which comes from Dutch company Vekoma.

Guests can experience the new Movie Park Studio Tour indoor roller coaster at Movie Park Germany during a soft opening period from June 23.

The Multi Dimension Coaster from Intamin Amusement Rides is expected to begin regular operations at the start of the region's summer school holidays on July 5.

Germany's studio-themed park is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2021, so the new attraction is the perfect way to honour that movie-inspired heritage.

New water coaster Krampus Expédition is now open at French theme park Nigloland.

The exciting €12 million attraction (the park's largest investment ever) from the German manufacturer Mack Rides is 600 metres long, 28 metres tall and delivers 3.5G in force.

In the theme for the new ride, Nigloland has brought the forgotten legend of the Alps back to life.
