Liseberg reopened on June 3 after 520 days of closure, with the new family dark ride Underlandet making its debut.

Underlandet is part of Kaninlandet (the Rabbit Land) and the new dark ride is a custom-made project for Liseberg by Quarry Fold Studio, P&P Projects, Gosetto and LifeFormations.

Guests are taken underground to experience the rabbits’ secret world. It is the first dark ride that the park has built in 50 years.

Today, the Dutch Council of State ruled on the development plan 'Wereld van de Efteling 2030' and the appeals against the plan that were submitted. The appeals have been rejected, which means that the development plan can go ahead.

Details of the plan were first confirmed in 2018, with a new attraction set to open in 2020, but when appeals were made the project had to be delayed. It will now be delivered in three phases, with the final stage complete in 2030.

Gröna Lund in Sweden is planning a major expansion of the theme park in 2024.

The project, if approved, would involve transforming the car park into a new area of the park with rides and attractions, shops and restaurants, games and green spaces.

One of the highlights could be a new roller coaster with a maximum height of 45m (148ft).

Efteling – the fairytale theme park in the south of Holland – will open the new play forest Nest! for its youngest visitors on May 31.

Located in the Ruigrijk area of the park close to the other family rides and attractions and in a small forested area, Nest! will be an inclusive area for young children of all abilities to play together.

The construction of the new play forest is still in progress, but it will open just in time for the 69th birthday of the theme park.

Disneyland Paris has announced that the revamped Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will open to guests on June 21.

Just a short walk from the parks, Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will pay tribute to all Marvel super heroes and the artists who created them.

Disney says that the hotel will also offer premium comfort and personalised services, while celebrating New York City’s culture and vibrant energy, styled as a New York art gallery.
